When you register you become part of an online community that makes it possible for you to socialise, interact and date. Unlike social communities and online dating where members post their pictures publicly, when you register you are anonymous by default. Of course nothing stops you from uploading your photo as it's not against the rules but this methodology allows you certain privacy.
